BMW was named the Greenest Premium Manufacturer in Europe
BRACKNELL, United Kingdom – January 23, 2009:
BMW did it again and showed the lowest average CO2 emissions of any premium car manufacturer for the second year in a row. This is not “here say” but more likely a fact, according to new independent research. BMW’s smart move on the award-winning EfficientDynamics programme, BMW showed an impressive average of only 159.4g/km (kilometer) for the entire fleet based on all BMWs sold in 2008.
A research comparison conducted by www.cleangreencars.co.uk revealed that all of BMW premium rivals were far behind on great results in regards to cutting CO2 emissions. German Car Maker Audi had a 173g/km CO2 emissions figure. Competitor Mercedes Benz was even higher and showed 189.9g/km close followed by British Manufacturer Jaguar with 198.3g/km.
Interested in the “runner ups”, when you can call it “runner up:
Brits Land Rover with a whopping 251g/km and the Sports Car Maker Porsche with an incredible 271.7g/km CO2 emission.
Question about the Automotive Industry Volume average? 158.7g/km for the year of 2008. For the entire article about the above findings follow the link to The Auto Channel.

Are we seeing here the new BMW Z4 of 2009 (Photo rendering)?
Another outlook for BMW’s Model Year of 2010?
Well friends and “lovers” of the Bavarian Auto Maker a.k.a. BMW it looks like that there is a lot commotion going on in the Bloggosphere about the new face of the BMW family. Certainly, the Kidney grille will still be the unique and stand alone design feature, BMW hopefully never will get rid off. But how about the front section, especially “the eyes”. Do you remember the hype years ago about BMWs’ “Angel Eyes” which illuminated so pretty the frame of the H4-lights and later on the xenon light of the 5 Series and so on? Now look at this (may be) new Z4 picture (rendering) I could discover…
It will have certainly the aggressive look of the current BMW family, and when you have had time to read my post about the new BMW project on the Mega City Car, I can see quite a bit similarities in the front party. How do we say so often looking at a baby’s face holding proudly by it’s Father… ”just like Daddy”…
